While the importance of learner autonomy in language education has been frequently discussed, there has been little quantitative research because of the lack of suitable instrumentaion(Apple,2011;Benson,2001;Macaskill&Taylor,2010;Shimo,2008). The instrument examined in the present study is a self-report scale comprising 18 items originally scored under a two-factor model(Shimo,2008).
